News from the East;

With Brotherly Love and Respect to all Brethren of Lodge 545.

I was raised by Brother Bob Miller, March 1961, my lodge fees were paid by my Dad (Jack Richards).

Because of my duties with the Indiana State Police and the USMC, my lodge activities were almost nonexistent until early 1995.  With encouragement from Brother Kenny Nixon, P.M., I began attending lodge again and assumed the office of Junior Steward.

The election as Worshipful Master and receiving the Past Master degree was awesome, and very educational.

I was overwhelmed by the solemnity of the occasion and the importance of the installation January 6th, 2003.  At times, I could not speak because of the emotions caused by the memories of those who were there in body and the memory of those who were in spirit.  A dream come true!

If you have not been here in a while, attend, and if you are contacted by one of the officers of the lodge or an active member to attend, don't disappoint him by not coming... we miss you and we want you here when you can make it.  If you want to come and would like someone to pick you up, call any officer or, especially me at (number omitted on web page), and you will have a way.

The Secretary and Treasurer gave satisfactory reports for 2002.  We are in good shape!  Anyone wanting details contact Noble T. Spicer, P.M., or Eddy O. Smith, P.M.

Matthew, Chapter 6

19    Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and were where thieves break through and steal.
20.    But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor dust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
21.    For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22.    The light of the body is the eye:  If therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
