CHAPTER XII
CONCLUSION
The history of Union Village F. & A. M. No. 545 is, of course, incomplete in detail. It would require hundreds of pages to record all the deeds of its Masonic Brotherhood, the friendship, the charity and acts of compassion. Every brother who has contributed to the Brotherhood is worthy of mention in these archives.
However, such cannot be. Countless labors and pleasures are never expressed in words or set down on paper to be recorded in the minutes. Most prefer, and rightly so, that their deeds of charity and compassion be known only to themselves and the recipient. On the other hand, only a Brother can share another Brother's pride and pleasure when he carries a worthy friend or relative's petition into the Lodge. It is the unrecorded labors and priveleges that compose the cement of our Masonic edifice.
Thus we travel on through the years. What doth the future hold in store? Only the Supreme Grand Master of the Universe knows. Can we justify our Fraternity? Pomp, ceremonies, words and ritual are not enough. We must examine minds and hearts, and answer truthfully if brotherly love, relief and truth are foremost in our thoughts and motives.
If these things are foremost, it may please the Grand Architect to bless us with another century or more of service, prosperity and fellowship. If our tenets are not held first among our objectives, then we may pass into oblivion as has been the fate of countless organizations that have failed to justify their existance.
We must press on with the same zeal displayed by our founding Brethern, extending the hand of brotherly love to all earnest seekers, relieving the distressed to the best of our ability, and remembering that our word is our bond in all our dealings with mankind.
With God's help, we will persist in our tenets, with faith that divine justice will see fit to protect us both now and forever more.
